Chinoiserie Reproduction

This embrasure was achieved by applying capitals and mirrors inside specific panels created with “gold leaf” stucco frames. The decorations drew inspiration from “Chinese” style tapestry of the “china” room or better known as the “Sala delle conghigle” (Shell Room) inside Palazzo Strozzi-Besso in Rome. The mirrors portray: a heron among butterflies on one mirror and parrots and exotic birds on the other, enchanted among small branches of peonies and chrysanthemums. The pictorial technique realized: antique “Oil on a mirror”.
